Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Artisan Partners announced today that Rezo Kanovich is joining the firm as a managing director and portfolio manager. Effective October 15, 2018, Mr. Kanovich will be named sole portfolio manager for the Artisan Non-U.S. Small-Cap Growth Strategy, and the strategy will re-open to new investors. In addition, during the fourth quarter, Artisan Partners expects to change the strategy's name and certain investment restrictions to reposition the strategy as a small- and mid-capitalization strategy with greater degrees of freedom. At Artisan Partners, Mr. Kanovich will be supported by a dedicated team of research analysts who will report directly to him.
Prior to joining Artisan, Mr. Kanovich was portfolio manager of the Oppenheimer International Small-Mid Company Fund, which he led for over six years beginning in January 2012. He has 18 years of investment management experience. Mr. Kanovich holds a bachelor's and a master's degree from Brandeis University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
Portfolio Manager Mark Yockey remarked, "I have been impressed with Rezo's portfolio management abilities and research perspectives and look forward to collaborating with him in the future."
Eric Colson, President and CEO of Artisan, commented, "Rezo is a natural fit for our talent-driven business model. He brings to Artisan a well-defined investment philosophy that aligns with the Global Equity team's focus on companies that offer long-term opportunities for growth. In addition, he brings a track record of successfully managing a differentiated portfolio of international small- and mid-cap stocks. We are confident that our partnership with Rezo will result in successful long-term outcomes for our clients, investors and the firm."
