Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Artisan Partners announced today that Mike Schneider, CFA, and Aashish Rao have been named associate portfolio managers on the Artisan Partners Growth Team, effective immediately.
Mr. Schneider joined the team in 2010 as an analyst to lead its industrials and energy research. Prior to joining Artisan Partners in March 2010, Mr. Schneider was managing director and senior equity analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co., Inc. Earlier in his career, he was a mergers and acquisitions attorney at Godfrey & Kahn S.C. Mr. Schneider holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a master's degree in business administration and a Juris Doctor (magna cum laude) from the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Rao joined the team in 2014 as an analyst to lead its technology research. Prior to joining Artisan Partners in June 2014, Mr. Rao was a vice president in equity research, covering technology and semiconductors at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rao held roles in engineering and competitive strategy at Intel Corporation. Mr. Rao holds a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India, a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a master's degree in business administration from Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
Regarding the promotions, Mr. Hamel said "These promotions are a reflection of the dedication and leadership Mike and Aashish have brought to the team, along with the value their contributions have added for clients and shareholders. They do not represent a change in our decision-making process."
The Growth team manages the Artisan Global Opportunities, Global Discovery, U.S. Mid-Cap Growth and U.S. Small-Cap Growth Strategies led by portfolio managers Jim Hamel, Craigh Cepukenas, Matt Kamm and Jason White.
